Waiter
This role is best suited to an individual who is detail-oriented, a team player, punctual, and resilient. You will be responsible for curating a welcoming and unforgettable dining experience for guests, ensuring food and beverages are served with a smile, professionalism, efficiency, and care. We are looking for people who take pride in delivering excellent service and can problem-solve under pressure and time constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have thorough knowledge of menu items to confidently recommend or explain options to guests
- Setting tables to the Fat Butcher standard
- Handling customer complaints effectively and reporting all complaints to the manager
- Serving food and beverages in accordance with the standards taught during your training.
- Understanding POS systems

Hostess
This role is best suited to an individual who is detail-oriented, a team player, punctual, problem-solving focused, and resilient. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests and will play a key role in creating a welcoming, warm, and memorable dining experience from arrival through to seating and leaving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greetings and Welcoming: Courteous, friendly, and professional.
- Admin Proficiency: Answering e-mails, taking reservations down, checking reservations for the week with Dineplan, and ensuring efficient seating arrangements.
- Communication: The successful candidate will coordinate with management and service staff to ensure smooth guest flow and efficient table management. Respond to guest enquiries and provide accurate information regarding the Fat Butcher restaurant.
- Front of House: Maintain the reception and entrance areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Problem solving: Assist with guest requests and resolve minor concerns promptly and professionally.
- Teamwork: Support colleagues and assist with operational requirements where necessary to ensure exceptional guest service
Minimum requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Be a proactive team player with a service-driven approach.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (spoken and written).
